Pat Martine pat@howiewood.com Pat began his career in 1971 at ABC/Dunhill in the sales department. Two years later, Pat’s tenacity earned him the position of sales manager. In 1975 Pat was off to Los Angeles, recruited by RCA Records for the position of Local Promotion Manager, with a territory that included Southern California, Arizona, and Las Vegas. United Artist was quick to pursue Pat, and he took on the position of West Coast Regional Director in Los Angeles. In 1979 Pat moved back to NYC to take on a post at Infinity Records, while working at Infinity Records Pat was called by industry legend, Bob Jamieson at CBS Records, who brought Pat on board as Manager of Promotion for the New York Tri-State area. After a brief stint with the elite Columbia Records staff, Pat set his sights back on L.A., where he worked with MCA Records managing promotion for the West Coast Region. A few years later, he took the position of West Coast AOR promotion with Arista Records. In 1983 he started a successful independent West Coast AOR company, working with such labels as MCA, A&M, Warner Brothers, Columbia, and smaller labels including Hightone Records who managed Robert Cray. Late in the 1980’s Pat was pursued by MCA Records, he worked with them for an eight-year stint and went on to win the coveted Promotion Man of the Year Award, along with the Bobby Poe Regional Director Award. He then moved on to a national pop position with MCA. After two years working with and managing the staff, Pat became Director of National Promotion for Imago Records. Along with these achievements, he was the VP of Promotion at Restless Records, held a management marketing position at Hitmakers Magazine, and has been a music consultant to various artists, managers, and a wide variety of labels.
